Scope of this policy
1Winly ZA reviews the 1Win platform; we do not operate it. Nobody deposits, wagers or uploads FICA paperwork here, so very little personal information ever reaches us. This page explains what does land in our systems, why we keep it, and how to have it corrected or removed.
Information that reaches our servers
Web server logs
Each request writes one standard log line: the originating IP address, the browser identification string, the page requested, the page that linked to it, the response code and a timestamp. Raw entries older than 30 days are rolled into anonymised totals and deleted.
First-party analytics
A small counter we built ourselves records which articles get read, roughly how long visitors stay, how far down a page they scroll, and whether the device was a phone, tablet or computer. It cannot see you beyond our own domain.
Affiliate click records
Partner links pass through a redirect on this site before landing on 1Win. That hop notes the time of the click and a campaign reference so a referral can be credited to us. Your name never enters the record, since we never held it to begin with.
Why we process it
Three purposes only: keeping the site online and secure, learning which reviews deserve an update, and showing our commercial partner that a sign-up originated here. We do not sell reader data, pass it to brokers or assemble advertising profiles.
Cookies we set
- PHPSESSID - a session cookie that vanishes once the browser closes; the site needs it to function.
- g1w_view - a first-party identifier lasting one year that stops repeat visits inflating our view counts.
There is no Google Analytics here, no Meta Pixel and no retargeting network of any sort.
POPIA and the Information Regulator
South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) is the framework we work under. It entitles you to ask what we hold about you (in practice, log lines matched to your IP), to have inaccurate entries fixed or erased, and to object to analytics processing. If you believe we have fallen short, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Visiting from the EU or UK
Readers covered by the GDPR or UK data-protection law hold equivalent rights, and we honour requests from those jurisdictions on identical terms.
Once you leave for 1Win
Clicking a partner link moves you onto 1Win's servers, where their privacy terms take over. What the platform gathers during registration or play is outside our reach, so read its policy before handing over any details.
Exercising your rights
Send a request through our contact page with a rough visit time or your IP address so the matching records can be found. Expect an answer inside 30 days.
Policy updates
Any change to our cookies, retention periods or third-party arrangements will be reflected on this page with a fresh date. This version dates from 22 August 2026.
